The Mormons

THE MORMONS:

THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST LATTER-DAY SAINTS

Introduction

On 6 April 1830 Joseph Smith Jr. founded the Church of Christ (its original name) in Fayette, New York.

He was born in Palmyra, New York on 23 December 1805 and was murdered on 27 June 1844.

Today’s Mormon church

Eighty percent of Utah is Mormon.

Twelve percent of the southern Nevada population is Mormon.

There are two groups that make up the Mormon Church.

The first group is known as the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints.

Their headquarters are in Salt Lake City, Utah (Mecca of Mormonism.)

This group is ten million strong.

They have their own university (BYU) Brigham Young in Utah, which boasts two campuses capable of educating 37,000 students at any one time.

Utah has 60,850 active missionaries. Only the brightest are sent into the field: boys aged nineteen and girls aged twenty one, for a normal posting of two years, in which such missionaries must fund their own expenses.

As a result of their proselytising 300,000 annual converts are added to their church, with 75,000 of these new recruits being children (LDS website.)

Nearly every twelve year-old boy is indoctrinated into the Aaronic priesthood and if worthy, is then ordained into the Melchizedek priesthood at 18.

The second group is known as the Community of Christ or, as they are now known, the Reorganised Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints.

Practising members are 250,000 strong.

Their headquarters are in Independence, Missouri.

This incidentally was the retirement home and location of the Harry H. Truman Presidential library.

Truman of course, was a freemason and obtained one of the highest degrees.

We are not sure if he was a Mormon or had any connections to the group.

It may be of interest to the reader that the ReorganisedChurch cites court rulings affirming that Utah is not the authentic Mormon Church.

This feud has never been successfully resolved to date.

The new convert

Will adhere to strict dietary laws – alcohol, tea, coffee, fizzy drinks and tobacco are all prohibited.

However, Joe Smith would regularly get drunk, pick up girls and smash hotel rooms up, while enjoying the good life (Worrall, pgs. 231, 232.)

Tithing is mandatory, with one-tenth of what they earn going straight to the Church. This nets Mormonism an annual income of around ($6 billion), plus $211 million from its many enterprises.

Business interests

They make a lucrative income by controlling the gambling licenses that regulate Las Vegas‘ casinos. It is also reported that they supply electricity to Las Vegas‘ casinos.

Mormon prospectors had first visited the Nevada landscape over hundred years ago and to this day, have kept a strong foothold in this multibillion-dollar sin city.

It may also be of interest to the reader that the eccentric billionaire hotel owner, Howard Hughes, not only owned the most prestigious hotel in the world then, the Sands Hotel, but also the film studio (RKO) and several other hotels in Las Vegas and Reno. Hughes was also well known for employing predominantly Mormon staff towards the end of his life, and with the famous Osmond family (more on them at the end of this article) constantly performing in Vegas, one might be forgiven for wondering if the Mormons own Las Vegas hotels too?

What is not commonly known, however, is the fact that the Mormons own the worldwide Marriott hotel chain.

Mormons have also accumulated over 1 billion dollars in stocks and shares and a billion dollars in real estate (Arizona Republic Newspaper, 1991.)

It has been estimated that total Mormon wealth is $30 billion.

Only Roman Catholicism can compete with this.

Joseph Smith (1805-1844)

Was a semiliterate farm boy that left school at thirteen. Two years before he died, he joined the Masonic Lodge and progressed to a Master Mason (third degree.) However, he would later be excommunicated from the lodge for stealing their ritual secrets and incorporating them into Mormonism.

He once said: “No man knows my history.”

This flippant statement would later return to haunt him.

“When Smith’s pockets were searched after his murder, a Masonic talisman known as a Jupiter stone was found” and shortly before he died, he cried out to his mob, “Is there no help for the widows son,” a Masonic plea for mercy (Worrall, pg. 80.)

More on freemasonry later.

During his earlier years prior to his “calling,” he was very much into the occult *peep-stone seeking/digging for treasure, financial scheming and even adultery.

It should also be noted that peep-stone gazing was illegal in the 1820’s; hence Smith’s arrest and fine for being caught practising this illegal act.

During this trial, Smith’s neighbours also heard rumours that he was involved with witchcraft as well.

These activities figured prominently in his professional and home life and throughout his time as Mormon president (J.B. Allen and G.M. Leonard, The Story of the Latter-day Saints.)

Joseph Smith’s father was also heavily involved in mysticism and folk magic, along with Joseph’s brother, Hyrum.

Their mother, Lucy caused outrage when she published a book titled, Biographical Sketches of Joseph Smith and His Progenitors for Many Generations.

This book was ghost written for her by Martha Knowlton Coray. Brigham Young suppressed this book because of its raw and honest portrayal of Joseph’s earlier years and this was not what the Mormon Church wanted known (Millennial Star, 31 January 1885.)

Some Mormon historians cast doubt on this part of Smith’s life and try in vain, to suppress this devious and wicked side to Smith’s life.

If one reads Simon Worrall’s book about one of the worlds greatest forgers, Mormon Mark Hoffmann, one will see just have far the Mormon hierarchy, including their top man, went to lie, deceive and hide devastating documents about Smith’s true nature.

Hoffmann also saw as proof that his church was false, by the way in which he had been able to cheat his superiors into spending hundred of thousands of dollars purchasing his forgeries, while his church taught that their twelve apostles and their leaders were not only in daily contact with the Holy Spirit, but were also supposed to be infallible.

If this was so, why then didn’t they detect Hoffmann’s cunning antics?

However, try as they do, the Mormons have been unable to destroy the following articles that affirm Smith’s true character:

Historical Magazine, 1870, interviewed Smith Snr. about his sons past.

In this interview his father spoke candidly about how Joseph had not only lead and supervised such peep-stone digs, but was also obsessed with them.

Further irrefutable evidence of this can be found in Dr. J. Clark’s book, Gleanings by the Way.

In 1834, sixty-two former neighbours of Smith issued a signed statement, in which they stated how the Smith family were:

“Destitute of that moral character which ought to entitle them to the confidence of any community.”

They also went to say:

“Joseph Smith Sr. and his son were in particular considered entirely destitute of moral character and addicted to vicious habits.”

Unfortunately for the Smith family, there exists no evidence of signed statements in support of their good character. Had such documents existed, you can be sure the Mormons would have found them and made them public(Mormonism Unveiled, Ohio, 1834.)

Smith the bigamist

He would be married to no more than 41 women simultaneously before his death in 1844. There are also reports how he tried to seduce a twelve year old and that his youngest child-bride was just fourteen years old, while he was in his late 30’s (Worrall, pg. 87.)

“Typically Smith would ask his close friends for their wives or daughters, using threats and religious blandishments to get his way….by impregnating his friends wives and daughters he could ensure that, even at a genetic level, they were united…among the women Smith forced into bed were four pairs of sisters and a mother-daughter pair” (Worrall, pgs. 86, 87.)

We also find the following quote from one young teenager, Lucy Walker who had been taken into Smith’s house, while her father was off on an errand for him:

“Oh, let this bitter cup pass. And thus I prayed in the agony of my soul” (Worrall, pg. 87.)

Fortunately there were other young girls that did indeed escape this predator and by refusing his advancements, they were immediately excommunicated, along with their families, from this cult.

With such antics as this, Smith’s first bride, Emma Hale – who would always stand by her man – was threatened by Smith, that if she did not go along with her bigamist husband (Emma once kicked one of Smith’s concubines down the stairs and into the snow.)

Worrall also records in his book, how the local vigilantes, after Smith’s failure to seduce a sixteen year old girl (one of numerous attempts on this and other teenagers), failed to arrange for a doctor to castrate Smith, even though this doctor had previously agreed to carry out this operation on Smith, and against his will (Worrall, pg. 87.)

This fury from his Ohio attackers, is now clearly understood. When I first watched the 1940 film, Brigham Young I didn’t understand why the crowd would want to kill Smith so badly. What had fanned their fury, I wondered? The film of course depicts Smith’s “martyrdom” as being the result of his firm and defiant religious beliefs, but we now know this is not so.

The film also shows the dedicated exodus that the Mormons made to Utah. However the reality is somewhat different to the film. The film shows them fleeing from Colorado, with an angry/heathen crowd in tow. Yet the reason for the Mormons desperate flee was due to the fact that the US authorities had numerous arrest warrants for Young and his lieutenants. Hence why they made their trek west.

There are even some who believe that Smith was actually beheaded by this mob. Of course, the official Mormon line is rather different – they teach that the particular assailant in question had “his hand stilled by a pillar of light.”

Smith the “prophet”

In 1820 Smith, the “prophet,” claimed that he had received a “vision” from God the Father and the Son, telling him that all religions were an abomination and that he should create a new one.

However, he was in no hurry to implement what he had just been told, but returned to peep-stones, divining rods and gold digging. And not only would he ignore his alleged vision, but also amazingly joined a MethodistChurch in the meantime (The Pearl of Great Price 1:1-25.)

Smith would also go on to declare how he had received a personal “vision” by John the Baptist, Peter, James and John (The Pearl of Great Price, J. Smith,1:68-73.)

In the 1851 edition of The Pearl of Great Price, Smith stated that an unknown angel called Nephi was God’s personal messenger sent to bring him “good news.” Yet in The Book of Mormon, another angel now named Moroni is credited with this visitation.

This very embarrassing contradiction continues to cause Mormon scholars problems.

(The LDSChurch has long been embarrassed by the lack of education that Smith had, and to ferret out his sloppy grammar, they had to reprint some of his writings, thanks to their more “educated” prophets and apostles.)

In September 1832, he predicted that the Temple would be rebuilt in Zion, Missouri. It never happened!

And would declare himself to be “King,” “Priest” and “Ruler” over Israel on Earth and even prophesied how one day all nations on earth would submit to him as God’s premier authority figure!

Smith and the book of Mormon

Smith, or the “General” as he liked to be called, in one of his other infamous gaffs, went on to say:

“The Book of Mormon is the correct of any book on the earth.”

And once again he would later regret saying this, for even Mormon scholars and Christian apologists have since refuted this for lack of any scientific or geographical evidence whatsoever.

The Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC has also gone on record to state that there is no archaeological evidence to authenticate the book of Mormon.

It must also be stated that the overall evidence for such a young religion, is non-existent. And this is quite unusual for one would expect to find the original text that underpins the Book of Mormon, but regrettably for the Mormons, it has never been located, or as some now believe, doesn’t even exist.

“General” Smith, wrongly or falsely implied, that he knew a credible scholar who affirmed the Book of Mormon to have been of divine origin. Unfortunately for Smith, the professor in question, a Charles Anthon of Columbia University, went on record to completely distance himself from what he called, “wretched fanatics”(E. D. Howe, Mormonism Unveiled, 1834.)

John Ankerberg and John Weldon in their book The facts on the Mormon Church wrote the following about this dubious book:

“In other words, no Book of Mormon cities have ever been located, no Book of Mormon person, place, nation, or name has ever been found, no Book of Mormon artefacts, no Book of Mormon scriptures, no Book of Mormon inscriptions…nothing which demonstrates the Book of Mormon is anything other than myth or invention has ever been found.”

It would also appear that Smith not only copied large segments of the AV1611 King James Bible into the Book of Mormon, but also plagiarised a former Congregationalist minister, Solomon Spaulding’s book, Manuscript Found, from 1812.

Spaulding, whose neighbours were quoted as saying of him:

“There goes old – and it came to pass.”

Spaulding, after reading his book to family and friends, decided it should be published and therefore was given to a publisher called Mr Patterson. However, Solomon died in 1816, and the manuscript went to several homes before eventually being handed to a Mr. Hurlburt, who allegedly sold it on to the Mormons for $300.

To date, this manuscript has never been found and probably never will be, for it would almost certainly destroy the foundation and interiority of Joseph Smith’s cult.

Although some of it may have been written by Smith and possibly a third party, there is no clear evidence to show where Spaulding’s work ended and Smith’s fabrication began.

For further evidence about Smith’s plagiarism please refer to Howard A. Davis’ book, Who Really Wrote the Book of Mormon?

Brigham Young (1801-1877)

Was another prolific bigamist and 32nd degree freemason, that succeeded Smith after his death and would take over the reigns of leadership and successfully, and with much innocent blood, point it towards the very lucrative religion that we now know today. However, this nearly didn’t happen, for one, James Strang, had convinced most of Smith’s family that he should succeed Smith. However, by 1856, he was conveniently murdered.

Mountain Meadows Murders

Brigham Young’s Stalin like grip will be forever associated with the controversial Mountain Meadows Massacre. On September 11, 1857, Brigham Young’s adopted son, John D. Lee with the help of some local Red Indians and a small group of Mormon killers, they murdered a hundred and twenty Bible Believing Christian immigrants. Under Lee’s personal command, they set out to disarm and then totally destroy and murder all their men, women and children. Those that did escape were kidnapped and only rescued by US troops a year or so later. (The dead bodies lay decomposing in the meadow for 2 long years, clearly done so as a warning to those that were not willing to “summit” to this new “theocratic” and self-proclaimed “religion” of God.) This group of Mormon vigilantes were no better than the Nazis that murdered and slaughtered millions of women and children in the ovens, during World War II. The Nazis believed “fate” was on their side, whereas the Mormons believed their “gods” were on their side. Young wrote the following about this: “As soon as we can get a court justice we will ferret this thing out, but till then don’t say anything about it.” (The Comprehensive History of the Church, 4:177.) Twenty years would elapse before Lee’s arrest and subsequent conviction for this brutal and totally unprovoked mass murder. A hand picked firing squad would later execute him. However some writers have questioned this official account of his death. It has been alleged that he may have died a good old age in Mexico. Lee in later years penned a book The Confession of John D. Lee, claiming how he believed that Young and the Mormon hierarchy knew exactly what he did and even approved and sanctioned it. One should also appreciate that Young was very much the god, police chief, judge, jury and executioner all rolled into one in Utah during this period. Had he not known of Lee’s activities and plans, then one could quite naturally ask shouldn’t he have known? One hundred and four years would pass, until in 1961, the first “President” and “Council of the Twelve,” reinstated the excommunicated Lee’s membership and “pardoned” him for his “misconduct” with full “blessings.” This means his “eternal salvation,” as far as Mormons understand this to be, is not affected by his murdering spree. (We recently watched the excellent and very moving film September Dawn, which was made in 2007. The film makes it very clear that the Mormon leadership, under divine “inspiration” not only planned and orchestrated this public execution, but took blood curdling oaths to never admit their involvement in this sickening act. Mormons worldwide would do well to investigate this horrific period and ask why Young, a man they believe was chosen and ordained by their god, not only convinced his gullible and brainwashed disciples to carry out such an evil and demonically inspired massacre, but when the American government interrogated Young and their “divine” council” some years later, he/they failed to confess and instead allowed Young’s adopted son to carry the can.)

Quick Facts

They teach that after Jesus’ death, He appeared to the Red Indians in America.

They have the following structure of religious authority:

(i) First presidency.

(ii) Two councillors.

(iii) And twelve apostles.

They have the world’s largest database, which records the names and addresses, births and deaths of everybody on the earth.

One of the main purposes for this database is to keep tabs on rebellious and disobedient members of the Mormons, i.e., those that don’t pay their full mandatory tithing. With a written record of this, disciplinary proceedings can then be commenced.

They also hold to a peculiar belief that when the Lord returns to earth, He will need to check their database to see who is alive and where they are living. Yet the Jesus of the Bible was omniscient, so obviously the jesus of the Mormon cult is not the Jesus of the Holy Bible.

Mormons, in their earlier years, were past masters in the illegal activities of counterfeiting money.

An arrest warrant was issued for Smith’s capture, but when news of this reached Smith, he swiftly fled to Ohio.

Shortly before his death, The Warsaw Signal reported that Joe Smith was still printing his illegal funny money.

It seems old habits, die-hard.

It must also be pointed out that Brigham Young was also implemented in this scam. Yet more interestingly, when the authorities came to arrest Young as well, he thought nothing of allowing an innocent man, William Miller, to take the rap for him; for Miller pretended to be Young. Incredibly, Miller was successful at escaping from them and many years later, Young, unrepentantly, said the following of this charade: [this] “was one of the best jokes ever perpetrated.”

Beliefs

Red = Mormon

Black = Traditional Christianity

Adam/Michael the archangel is their god (Brigham Young, The Journal of Discourses, 1:50.) Mormons then and now struggle with this peculiar doctrine (Desert News, 18 June 1873.)

The Bible is abundantly clear that God created Adam (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:4.)

The apostle Paul writes about Adam in Romans 5:12:

“For by one man sin entered the world.”

Adam was mortal, never immortal. When mortal men fell, we all fell with him. Therefore if Adam was god, what good with such a god be to mankind?

Man can become a god for God/Adam/Elohim was once a man too (J. Smith, Teachings of the Prophet, pg. 345 & J. Smith Journal of Discourse 6:3-4.)

The Bible is clear that God is eternal (Ps. 90:2.) Therefore He could never have been a mortal man.

As for man becoming a god, I once debated this false doctrine with a Mormon. After several minutes of going back and forth, I told him that John 1:12 meant that once a sinner was born again by the Holy Spirit (John 3:3 & 1 Pet. 1:22), he was instantaneously baptised into the body of Christ (Gal. 3:27), sealed and preserved by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 4:30), and then spiritually adopted into God’s Kingdom (Rom. 8:29, 30 & Eph. 1:5.) He is now a child of God, but never deity.

That there are literally billions of gods that control numerous planets in the constellation (J. Smith Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith.)

The Mormon will use two Scriptures to justify this false doctrine (Ps. 82:6 & John 10:34-36).

During Old Testament times, God appointed mortal man to be judges over the people of Israel. Therefore, in those circumstances, the title god does not mean that they were deity or even divine in nature, but that they had godly authority and would represent God on earth (Rom. 13:1 & 2 Cor. 5:20.) Furthermore, this does not negate the fact that Jesus, in the flesh, is the express image of God in bodily form (Col. 1:15-20); that the Father and Him are eternal (John 17:5); and that the Holy Spirit makes the Trinity complete (Acts 5:3-5.)

Please also see Isaiah 45:5:

“I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no Godbeside me.”

Jesus and Lucifer are spirit brothers (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, 13:282.)

In John’s gospel, the apostle opens his narrative:

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

This fantastic and previously unexplained doctrine (the Trinity) is one of the core beliefs in the Christian faith. The above verse alone shows that two Persons existed eternally. Satan is nowhere to be found. Jesus created Satan before the earth was formed (Eze. 28:13.) Therefore, as the Scripture doesn’t lie, let’s not add to the word of God with man-made doctrines.

And as for the third Member of the Trinity, please see (Gen.1: 2; Matt. 4:1; Hebrews 9:14.)

God the Father had sexual relations with the Virgin Mary (B. Young, Journal of Discourses, 1:50 – 51.)

The New Testament writers take great care and reverence in reporting the way in which the Lord was to be born of a virgin.

In Luke’s gospel we read:

“Behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a Son, and shalt call His name JESUS” (1:31.)

In the parallel passage of Matt, we read:

“And [Joseph] knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son” (1:25.)

Therefore, God the Holy Spirit came upon Mary and supernaturally impregnated her without defiling her (Deut. 24:1.) When she gave birth to the Lord, she was still a virgin and therefore, Joseph, was able to marry his virgin wife and go on to consummate the marriage, without the law ever being broken.

And for the record, this is not pagan mythology just a creative act of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus was a polygamist – married Mary, Martha and Mary Magdalene, and even fathered many children before the crucifixion (Mormon apostle, Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, 4:259; 2:82.)

This heretical doctrine is nowhere to be found in Scripture. However, for some, this doesn’t seem to matter anyway.

The apostle Paul wrote concerning the perfection of the Lord:

For he hath made him to be sinforus, whoknewnosin;thatwe might be made the righteousness of Godinhim” (2 Cor. 5:21.)

And had the Lord been married at all, wouldn’t Paul have said so in 1 Cor. 9:5:

“Have wenotpower to lead about a sister, a wife, as well asotherapostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, andCephas?”

Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery both claimed that John the Baptist gave them the Melchizedek priesthood (John A. Widtsoe, The Priesthood and Church Government, 1939.)

Unfortunately, the Mormons fall into the same predicament as the Masons: this priesthood is non-transferable!

The Greek word aparabatos means:

1. Unviolated, not to be violated, inviolable

2. Unchangeable and therefore not liable to pass to a successor.

Therefore in the era of the New Covenant only the Lord Jesus Christ as High Priest can hold this position (Heb. 7:24.)

It should also be pointed out that all regenerated Born Again Christians are priests.

Paul called us Ambassadors of Christ (2 Cor. 5:20 & Eph. 6:29); Peter called believers a Royal Priesthood (1 Pet. 2:9); and John a Kingdom of Priests and Kings (Rev. 1:6.)

The canon of Scripture never closed. God still uses prophets and apostles today.

The New Testament in no less than four places contradicts this claim (Matt. 11:13.)

So sure was the apostle Paul that Corinth, a backslidden and carnal apostolic church had all she needed, wrote the following and vicariously to all Christians:

“That in everything ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge” (1 Cor. 1:5-8; 2; Tim. 3:16; Jude 3.)

Brigham Young and Joseph Smith both taught and practised polygamy (Doctrine and Covenants.)

Jesus taught monogamy in Matt. 19:4. Therefore, Smith and Young make Jesus a liar.

Paul taught that leaders in the Church were to be husbands of one wife (1 Tim. 3:2; 3:12 & Tit. 1:6.)

Again, Smith and Young make the apostle a liar.

That one must believe in Christ, be baptised, obey the Mormon Churches teachings, perform good works, and keep the commandments of God (the Law),this willsave the Mormon soul(Journal of Discourse, 2:4.)

When the apostle Paul announced the mystery gospel to the apostolic Church, works were always synonymous with faith (James 2:14-24), but grace through faith is what ultimately saves a sinner (Eph. 2:8-10.)

That there is a heavenly mother, much like the Catholics believe (John A. Widsoe A Rational Theology, pg.69.)

Whenever God is mentioned in the Bible, the pronouns are always masculine, never feminine.

Jesus prayed: “Our Father.” However, the Mormons and Catholics will use Jeremiah 44:17 as their justification for female deity, but upon a brief examination, (vs. 22), it soon becomes apparent that the children of Israel had not only rejected the eternal God, but moaned at Him for the good times they had enjoyed with their pagan queen of heaven – hence another reason why God gave them over to themselves, and sent them to Babylon (Rom. 1: 21-23.)

Personal blood atonement sometimes needed for entry to Mormon heaven. Jesus’ substitutionary death is unable to save Mormons from all their sins (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, 3:247; 4:2919-220.)

In 1 John 1:7 the apostle wrote the following:

“…the blood of JesusChristhisSoncleansethusfromallsin.

Paul the apostle, wrote:

“There is thereforenownocondemnation to them which are inChristJesus, who walknotafter the flesh, butafter the Spirit” (Rom. 8:1.)

Man’s fallen blood cannot in anyway allow him entrance into Heaven. It would take the precious blood of Christ alone to allow this (1 Pet. 1:19; Rev. 1:5.)

I must also say how tragic and pathetic it is that the jesus of the Mormon cult is not able to save his people from all their sins. The same jesus of Catholicism is equally useless and therefore should not be bothered with. However, the Jesus of the Holy Bible is all powerful, and this is the Jesus that all cults and false religions desperately need to be personally introduced to.

Blood oaths taken.

In Matt. 5:33-37, the Lord said the following:

Again, ye have heardthat it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shaltnot forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lordthineoaths: ButIsay unto you,Swearnot at all;neitherbyheaven;for it isGod’sthrone: Norby the earth;for it ishisfootstool:neitherbyJerusalem;for it is the city of the greatKing. Neither shalt thou swearbythyhead, because thou canstnotmakeonehairwhiteorblack. Butletyourcommunicationbe, Yea,yea;Nay,nay:for whatsoever is more than thesecomethofevil.”

The Lord would also warn us:

But I say unto you,Thateveryidlewordthatmen shall speak, they shall giveaccountthereofin the day of judgment” (Matt. 12:36.)

However, if man chooses to reject Jesus’ substitutionary death and put his faith in his own works, or return to the law, than Scripture says:

Behold,IPaulsay unto you, thatif ye be circumcised, Christ shall profityounothing” (Gal. 5:2.)

Mormons wear Masonic undergarments during their temple services (more on this later.)

Such vain garments defile one’s testimony before men (1 Pet. 1:18,19.)

Baptise dead people (of all faiths irrespectively if a person wishes this false blessing or not.)

When the apostle Paul wrote in 1 Cor. 15:29…”we baptise the dead,” what he wasn’t advocating was for Christians to baptise dead people. The context of chapter fifteen is the fact that Jesus has risen and death is now swallowed up. However, had He not be raised, we’d still be in our sins and therefore we might just as well be baptising dead people, to no avail.

Salvation is never by works, but always by grace (Gal. 2:16 & Eph. 2:8,9.)

Upon death all must appear in judgment before Elohiym, Jesus and Joseph Smith.

The word of God states that all Judgment has passed from the Father to the Son (John 5:22.) Therefore, God in the capacity of His Son, will judge sinful (unsaved) mankind at the Great White Throne Judgment (Phil. 2:9-11 & Rev. 20:11-15.)

Up until the late 1970’s, if you were a Black American, you would not have been allowed a priestly role within the Mormon church. The reason for this is because Mormons believe that black people were under a curse for their valiance in their pre-mortal existence. This discrimination only changed when the US government threatened to cancel their tax exemption. Sensationally, at the 11th hour, the Mormon gods decreed that black people could now become priests/gods too. Isn’t this amazing?

Scripture states that all are equally one in Christ Jesus (Gal. 3:28) and that God has no preferences to mankind (Eph. 6:9.)

The Mormons, very much like the Catholic Church, fall into the same belief that they are “the one true church of Jesus Christ on earth.” Unfortunately, there is no Scripture for this myth.

For nowhere in the New Testament was it ever stated that this “church” or that “system” would or could ever save a sinner. But the Lord Jesus Christ made it very clear how one must be saved:

Jesussaith unto him,Iam the way, the truth, and the life: no mancomethunto the Father, butbyme” (John 14:6.)

The apostle Peter would later echo the Master:

Neitheristheresalvationinanyother:for there isnoneothernameunderheavengivenamongmen,wherebywemust be saved” (Acts 4:12.)

And if these verses weren’t plain enough, please see what the apostle Paul taught:

Believeon the LordJesusChrist, andthou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31.)

Thatif thou shalt confesswiththymouth the LordJesus, and shalt believeinthineheartthatGod hath raisedhimfrom the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Rom. 10:9.)

For by grace are yesavedthroughfaith;andthatnotofyourselves: it is the gift of God” (Eph. 2:8.)

It would seem that all false religions continue to commit this arrogant sin of trying to be the mediator between man and God (1 Tim. 2:5.)

They believe that when they reach the pearly gates, God will reach out His hand and ask them to perform the secret handshake. If they cannot, they will be barred from entering (Worrall, pg. 98.)

This ridiculous obsession that the Mormons have with freemasonry, continues to lead Mormonism further and further away from the Bible’s message of salvation in Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone.

As freemasonry is evil, and as God is good, only a fool would fail to understand that God sees freemasonry as totally abhorrent to Him, and therefore He would have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with it. I would also say this: that sinners can do nothing to help them on their way to salvation – only total faith in Jesus Christ is sufficient – secret handshakes, are certainly not needed!

And Mormons ultimately believe in universal salvation – even the devil gets in!

This cannot be so, for Hell, the place of immense torture, is mentioned in over twenty passages in Scripture and always speaks of sinful man’s eternal abode (Daniel 12:2; Matt. 3:12; 25:46; Mark 9:44-49; Luke 16:23, 24; 2 Thess. 1:9; Rev. 14:10, 11; 20:10.)

Some people have been surprised at me when I tell them that Jesus spoke of Hell more times than Heaven!

Freemasonry links

The late Barry Smith was an expert in the cults, occult and freemasonry.

In his book, Second Warning, he lists some very interesting and yet very concerning facts that the new Mormon will have to sign up to, if he wishes to attend the Mormon temple (please note only 25% of Mormons will ever be permitted to enter their Masonic temple):

Upon joining the Mormon temple, the following Masonic rituals will be expected of you:

(a) Your clothes will be removed.

(b) A robe put on.

(c) You will be washed, under your robe.

(d) You will be anointed with oil under your robe.

(e) You will be asked if you would like to leave at this time.

(f) You will then move into the witchcraft realm with Masonic symbolic.

(g) Slitting of the throat.

(h) Tearing open the chest

(g) Ripping open of the stomach

(h) A new name is given.

(i) All men are called Joseph and all women are called Rebecca (B R. Smith, pg. 146, Second Warning.)

Before missionaries are sent overseas, they are involved in a bizarre ritual, which is called the Endowment Ceremony. During this Masonic event, members are naked, with the exception of a white sheet that covers their bodies. All this will be conducted on members in a cubiclelike room.

Worrall gives the reader the following account of this non-Christian event:

“Inside the cubicle two elders from the Church anoint him with water from a font. Then, as one of the temple workers intoned a blessing, the other reached forward and touched his head and his lips, to give him the power of thought and speech, then reached inside the sheet covering his body and touched his groan, to endow him with the power of reproduction. The ritual was repeated, using oil instead of water” (pg. 97.)

For the rest of the Mormons life (men and women) they will have to wear Masonic underwear – the letters V and L are stitched onto the breast area, [this] “Signifying the compass and square of the Masons, and a horizontal stitch at the right knee, which is meant to help them walk upright in the faith” (pgs. 97, 98.)

Also during this Masonic ceremony, after the secret handshakes have been specially polished to perfection, the Mormon has to recite the following words, while reaching his hand through a curtain, where a Mormon elder would grab his hand, pretending to be a god:

“Health in the navel, marrow in the bone, blessing on my posterity for time and all eternity.”

Raw truth

Divorce rates, incidents of child abuse, abortions, teenage pregnancy, nervous breakdowns and even suicides, within Mormonism, are all above the US national average and are climbing (Tribune Salt Lake City & Los Angeles Times.)

Ecumenical

During the late 1980’s, the Mormons started to become ecumenical. Support came from former president Jimmy Carter, Billy Graham and Jerry Falwell.

And in November 2004 Ravi Zacharias, visited Utah where he “preached” to them and also held hands with them. How unfortunate it is that he didn’t rebuke their blasphemous doctrines!

After Ravi’s sermon, he amazingly received a standing ovation?!? I wonder if Paul would have received a standing ovation from this group, or the Lord Jesus? I somehow doubt it.

Donny Osmond

He once told me, via e-mail, that he was totally unaware that the Mormon Church supplied electricity to Las Vegas’ casinos.

The Osmonds perform in Las Vegas all year around and are excellent ambassadors for the Mormon Church.

And while on the subject of Mormon business, I wasn’t too surprised to discover how Mormon money is pumped into the purchase and construction of sympathetic evangelical Churches!

Yet with so much money floating around, it is no wonder that this cult would think nothing of spending $35 million dollars of their members hard earned money, trying to silence Christian street preachers, from preaching in their backyard.

Conclusion

It is my opinion, for what it is worth, that Joe Smith was a brilliant and conniving, not to mention controlling, conman. His ability to overpower little girls into celestial marriages with him, and his ingenious method of gradually and successfully incorporating Freemasonry into Mormonism, is not only audacious, or even brazen, but it is, I believe, quite remarkable.

The tragedy of this and for other false religions like Mormonism, is the sad reality that millions of families around the world will give their all to this flawed cult, with the belief and hope that eternal salvation awaits them as their reward – how totally shocked they will be to find out quite the opposite awaits them (Prov. 16:25.)

So to briefly, and by no means comprehensively sum up the life and character of Joseph Smith, we can reveal that not only was he a prolific plagiarist but was also a very devious conman that must have had great charisma and charm. I do wonder if someone could come along today and invent such nonsense and hope to create a very successful and vibrant religion?

I would also wish to quote Brigham Young who said that:

“Christianity was from the devil.”

Mormonism, therefore doesn’t wish to be considered Christian, but non-Christian.

The Jesus of Mormonism is as foreign to Scripture as the Jesus of Islam.

The apostle Paul foresaw a day when false gospels would reveal themselves. This prophecy he affirmed is echoed in the following words:

“I marvelthat ye aresosoonremovedfrom him that calledyouinto the grace of Christuntoanothergospel: Whichisnotanother; but there besomethattroubleyou, andwouldpervert the gospel of Christ.Butthoughwe,or an angelfromheaven, preach any other gospel unto youthan that which we have preached unto you, let him beaccursed. As we said before, so say Inowagain, If any man preach any othergospel unto youthanthat ye have received, let him beaccursed.” (Gal 1:6-9.)
