What Is 5 The Helmet Of Salvation

“What is the helmet of salvation(Ephesians 6:17)?”Before we start our study on the helmet of salvationwe have to understand what the Christian doctrine of salvation is.Salvation is the act of being saved by God from evilSalvation is deliverance from danger or suffering.

To save is to deliver or protect.

The word carries the idea of victory, health, or preservation. Sometimes, the Bible uses the words savedor salvation to refer to temporal, physical deliverance, such as Paul's deliverance from prison

Philippians 1:1919 For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance.More often, the word "salvation" concerns an eternal, spiritual deliverance.

When Paul told the Philippianjailer what he must do to be saved, he was referring to the jailer's eternal destiny

Acts 16:30-31

30 Then he brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household."

Jesus compared being saved with entering the kingdom of God Matthew 19:24-2524 I'll say it again-it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!"25 The disciples were astounded. "Then who in the world can be saved?" they asked.

What are we saved from?

In the Christian doctrine of salvation, we are saved from "wrath," that is, from God's judgment of sin

Romans 5:9

9 And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's condemnation.

1 Thessalonians 5:9

9 For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us.

Our sin has separated us from God, and the consequence of sin is death

Romans 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Biblical salvation refers to our deliverance from the consequence of sin and therefore involves the removal of sin.Who saves us? ├ö├ç├┤ God – Only God can remove sin and deliver us from sin's penalty

2 Timothy 1:9

9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time-to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.

Titus 3:55 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. (Greek He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.)

How does God save?

The Bible says that:, God has rescued us through Christ

John 3:17

17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

Specifically, it was Jesus' death on the cross and subsequent resurrection that achieved our salvation

Romans 5:1010 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.Ephesians 1:7

7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.

Scripture is clear that salvation is the gracious, undeserved gift of God and is only available through faith in Jesus ChristEphesians 2:5, 85 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's grace that you have been saved!) 8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

Acts 4:12

12 There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved."

How do we receive salvation? We are saved by faith.

First, we must hearthe gospel-the good news of Jesus' death and resurrection

Ephesians 1:13

13 And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own[a] by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.

Then, we must believe-fully trust the Lord Jesus

Romans 1:16

16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes-the Jew first and also the Gentile.[a]

This involves repentance, a changing of mind about sin and Christ

Acts 3:19

19 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.andif we call on the name of the Lord

Romans 10:9-10, 139 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.. 13 For "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

A definition of the Christian doctrine of salvation would be

"The deliverance, by the grace of God, from eternal punishment for sin which is granted to those who accept by faith, God's conditions of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus."

Salvation is available in Jesus alone

John 14:6

6 Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Acts 4:12

12 There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved."

And salvation is dependent on God alone for provision, assurance, and security.

Prayer can be connected to the act of placing your faith in Jesus alone for salvation.Again, though, it is crucially important that you do not base your salvation on having said a prayer. Reciting a prayer cannot save you! If you want to receive the salvation that is available through Jesus, place your faith in Him. Fully trust His death as the sufficient sacrifice for your sins. Completely rely on Him alone as your Savior. That is the biblical method of salvation. If you have received Jesus as your Savior, by all means, say a prayer to God. Tell God how thankful you are for Jesus. Offer praise to God for His love and sacrifice. Thank Jesus for dying for your sins and providing salvation for you. That is the biblical connection between salvation and prayer.

Scripture instructs us to put on the whole armor of GodEphesians 6:17 "take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

In Biblical times, when a soldier suited up for battle, the helmet was the last piece of armor to go on.

It was the final act of readiness in preparation for combat.

A helmet was vital for survival, protecting the brain, the command station for the rest of the body.

If the head was badly damaged, the rest of the armor would be of little use.The assurance of salvation is our impenetrable defense against anything the enemy throws at us. Jesus said, Matthew 10:28

28 "Don't be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.[a] The idea in this verse is that, as we prepare for Satan's attacks, we must grab that helmet and buckle it on tightly. Salvation is not limited to a one-time act of the past or even a future hope. God's salvation is an ongoing, eternal state that His children enjoy in the present. We must wear the helmet every dayIt is daily protection and deliverance from our sin nature and Satan's schemes.Because of the power of the cross, our enemy no longer has any hold on us Romans 6:1010 When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God.

Romans 8:22 And because you belong to him, the power[a] of the life-giving Spirit has freed you[] from the power of sin that leads to death.

1 Corinthians 1:1818 The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.

Satan knows all that, but he also knows that most Christians do not know that-or, at least, they do not live as if they know. We must learn to keep our helmets buckled so that Satan's fiery missiles do not lodge in our thoughts and set us on fire.

Through this helmet of salvation, we can

2 Corinthians 10:5

5  destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

There are several actions a believer can take to keep this helmet fastened and functioning the way God intended:FirstWe need to renew our minds.

Romans 12:1ÔÇô2

And so, dear brothers and sisters,[a] I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.[]2 Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Our minds are battlefields.

Those battles determine the course of our lives.Romans 12:1ÔÇô2instructs us to renew our minds by allowing the truth of God's Word to wipe out anything contrary to it. Old ideas, opinions, and worldviews must be replaced. We must allow God's truth to continually wash away the world's filth, lies, and confusion from our minds and adopt God's perspective.Secondly Reject doubts that arise from circumstances.

We as human beings are sensory creatures.

Most things, if we If we cannot understand it with our five senses then we tend to disregard it completely .Our circumstances may convince us that God does not really love us or that His Word is not true.

It is impossible to have faith and doubt at the same time.

God's reward for our faith is the helmet of salvation. With the helmet firmly in place, we can choose to believe what appears impossible

Hebrews 11:6

6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

1 Peter 1:8ÔÇô98 You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. 9 The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.Thirdly Keep an eternal perspective.

When life crashes in around you, always remember to look up. Our salvation is the most precious gift we have received.

Assurance of our salvation can help us weather life's storms.

We can choose to live our lives by the motto

If it doesn't have eternal significance, it's not importantMatthew 6:2020 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.1 Corinthians 3:11├ö├ç├┤1311 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have-Jesus Christ.12 Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials-gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw.13 But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person's work has any value.FourthlyRemember that victory has already been accomplished. When we consider ourselves 11….to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.(Romans 6:11)

That way we eliminate many of the opportunities Satan uses to entrap us. Choosing sin is no longer an option, because we recognize ourselves to be "new creatures" this enables us to effectively cut off many avenues of failure.2 Corinthians 5:1717 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!1 John 3:99 Those who have been born into God's family do not make a practice of sinning, because God's life[a] is in them. So they can't keep on sinning, because they are children of God.

Last but not leastWeFind all our hope in Him.Psalm 73:25says25 Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. Our helmet is most effective when we treasure what it represents.

The salvation Jesus purchased for us cannot share the place of importance in our hearts with earthly things. When pleasing the Lord is our supreme delight, we eliminate many of Satan's temptations and that leaves his evil suggestions powerless. As we wear the helmet of salvation every day, our minds become more insulated against the suggestions, desires, and the traps of the enemy. We choose to guard our minds from excessive worldly influenceby thinking on things that honour Christ Philippians 4:88 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honourable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. In doing so, we wear our salvation as a protective helmet that will "guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:77 Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.Isaiah 26:33 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!1 Peter 1:5.5 And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.

“What does it mean for salvation to be a gift from God?”The word gift is an important one in the Bible, and it is good that we understand its definition and implications. In the New Testament, there are several Greek words translated as "gift." Some of these words are used in a different context other than God's gift of salvation, such as The things received from parents

Matthew 7:11 11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

Offerings to a ministry

Philippians 4:1717 I don't say this because I want a gift from you. Rather, I want you to receive a reward for your kindness.

The gifts of the magi (The wise men)Matthew 2:1111 They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

However, when it comes to the matter of our salvation, the New Testament writers use different Greek words-words that emphasize the gracious and absolutely free quality of the gift. There are two words in Scripture most commonly used for the gift of salvation:

The first one is Dorea, meaning "a free gift.of Salvation"This word stresses the superfluous nature of the gift-it is something given above and beyond what is expected or deserved. When this word is mentioned in the in the New Testament it always relates to a spiritual gift from God. It is what Jesus offers to the Samaritan woman at the well John 4:1010 Jesus replied, "If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water."It is called the "free gift" inRomans 5:1515 But there is a great difference between Adam's sin and God's gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. It is the "unspeakable [or indescribable] gift" in2 Corinthians 9:1515 Thank God for this gift[a] too wonderful for words! This gracious gift is identified as the Holy Spirit inActs 2:3838 Peter replied, "Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.Acts 8:3030 Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, "Do you understand what you are reading?"Acts 11:1717 And since God gave these Gentiles the same gift he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to stand in God's way?"The adverb form of this word is dorean, translated "freely" inMatthew 10:88 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!

2 Corinthians 11:77 Was I wrong when I humbled myself and honoured you by preaching God's Good News to you without expecting anything in return?Revelation 21:66 And he also said, "It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega-the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.Revelation 22:1717 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." Let anyone who hears this say, "Come." Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.Romans 3:2424 Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

Immediately following God's pronouncement of our guilt, we have this use of dorean:"Being justified FREELY by His grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."The gift of salvation is free, and the motive for the gift is nothing more than the grace of the Giver. The second word is Charisma, meaning "a gift of grace."This word is used to define salvation inRomans 5:15-1615 But there is a great difference between Adam's sin and God's gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. 16 And the result of God's gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man's sin. For Adam's sin led to condemnation, but God's free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins.Romans 6:23"23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift [charisma] of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. This same word is used in conjunction with the gifts of the Spirit received after salvation Romans 12:66 In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.1 Timothy 4:1414 Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you.2 Timothy 1:66 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.1 Peter 4:1010 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.Obviously, if something is a "gift of grace," it cannot be earned. To work for something is to deserve it, and that would produce an obligation-gifts of debt, as it were. That is why works destroy grace Romans 4:1-5Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God? 2 If his good deeds had made him acceptable to God, he would have had something to boast about. But that was not God's way. 3 For the Scriptures tell us, "Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith."[a]

4 When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. 5 But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.Romans 11:5-66 In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. When presenting salvation, the New Testament writers carefully chose words that emphasize grace and freedom. As a result, the Bible could not be more clear-salvation is absolutely free, the true gift of God in Christ, and our only responsibility is to receive the gift by faith John 1:1212 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.John 3:1616 "For this is how God loved the world: He gave[a] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.Ephesians 2:8-98 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

ASSURANCE OF SALVATIONI………………… am sure and absolutely confident that I am saved for time and eternity, and should I suddenly die today I would go immediately to heaven, because I am one of God's children .

He gently whispers to my spirit that I am His child now

2. I BELIEVE the Bible, is the True Word of God, and I trust His Word.

If the devil tempts me to doubt, I will put my finger on verse 1Joh.5:10-13 and rebuke him in the name of Jesus, He will then flee from me when I say this to him

I declare that I believe in Jesus Christ

I Asked Him to come into my life

I now have eternal life

****************************

Lord search my heart * See if I possess salvation * See if I am truly saved

I will always remember that The Holy Spirit searches my heart.

Since I have Assurance of salvation the Spirit will make me a stronger Christian

Assurance is not a principle or pride; it is trusting in the Word of God

My salvation leaves me humble; this can only be done by God's grace and mercy

I realize that it is faith that honours, pleases and rejoices God's heart Heb.11:6

To have Faith means to be sure of the things we hope for and to be certain of the things that we cannot see. Heb.11:1
