Evangelize Friends And Family How
“How can I evangelize my friends and family without pushing them away?”At some point, every Christian has had a family member, a friend, co-worker, or acquaintance who is not a Christian. Sharing the gospel with others can be difficult, and it can become even more difficult when it involves someone with whom you have close emotional ties. The Bible tells us that some people will be offended at the gospel
We are commanded to share the gospel, and there is no excuse for not doing soLuke 12:51-53“Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other! From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against—or two in favor and three against. ‘Father will be divided against son and son against father; mother against daughter and daughter against mother;and mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” Mic 7:6For the son despises his father. The daughter defies her mother. The daughter-in-law defies her mother-in-law. our enemies are right in your own household!Matthew 28:19-20“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”Acts 1:8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”1 Peter 3:15Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.So, how can we evangelize our family members, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances? The most important thing we can do is pray for them. Pray that God would change their hearts and open their eyes to the truth of the gospel2 Corinthians 4:4Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
Pray that God would convince them of His love for them and their need for salvation through Jesus Christ
John 3:16.“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Pray for wisdom as to how you can minister to them
James 1:5If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
In addition to praying, we must also live godly Christian lives in front of them, so they can see the change God has made in our own lives
1 Peter 3:1-2In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over2 by observing your pure and reverent lives.
As Saint Francis of Assisi once said, “Preach the gospel at all times and when necessary use words.”Finally, we must be willing and bold in our actual sharing of the gospel.
Proclaim the message of salvation through Jesus Christ to your friends and family
Romans 10:9-10If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
Always be prepared to speak of your faith doing so with gentleness and respect.
1 Peter 3:15Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.
Ultimately, we must leave the salvation of our loved ones up to God. It is God’s power and grace that saves people, not our efforts. The best and most we can do is pray for them, witness to them, and live the Christian life in front of them.
