The Bible Is

The BibleI believe the Bible, comprised of the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God Matthew 5:1818 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. In faith I hold the Bible to be inerrant in the original writings, God-breathed, and the complete and final authority for faith and practice

2 Timothy 3:16-17.All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. While still using the individual writing styles of the human authors, the Holy Spirit perfectly guided them to ensure they wrote precisely what He wanted written, without error or omission

2 Peter 1:21

21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

There is one God.

The Bible has one Creator.

It is one book.

It has one plan of grace, recorded from initiation, through execution, to consummation.

From predestination to glorification, the Bible is the story of God redeeming His chosen people for the praise of His glory.

As God's redemptive purposes and plan unfold in Scripture, the recurring themes constantly emphasized are:

The character of God,

The judgment for sin and disobedience,

The blessing for faith and obedience,

The Lord Savior and sacrifice for sin,

The coming kingdom and glory.

It is God's intention that we know and understand these five themes because our lives and eternal destinies depend upon them.

It is therefore unthinkable that God would allow some of this vital information to be "lost" in any way.

The Bible is complete, in order that we who read and understand it might also be "complete, and equipped for every good work"

Ephesians 4:14

People who don't know what the Bible teaches will have no ability to distinguish truth from error, and they will be like "children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine" .

Hebrews 5:14But Christians who have a solid foundation will be more mature , will not be easily led astray , will have better judgment , and will" have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil"

The Precious Bookby Bernice Peyman

Though the cover is worn, And the pages are torn,And places bear traces of tears,Yet more precious than goldIs the Book worn and old,That can shatter and scatter my fears.

When I prayerfully look In the precious old Book,As my eyes scan the pages I seeMany tokens of love From my Father above,Who is nearest and dearest to me.

This old Book is my guide,'Tis a friend by my side,It will lighten and brighten my way;And each promise I find Soothes and gladdens my mindAs I read it and heed it each day.
