“What is the true meaning of Christmas?”The true meaning of Christmas is love.

John 3:16-17

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of this incredible act of love. The real Christmas story is the story of God becoming a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ.

Why did God do such a thing? Because He loves us!

Why was Christmas necessary? Because we needed a Savior!

Why does God love us so much? Because He is love it self

1 John 4:8

But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Why do we celebrate Christmas each year? Out of gratitude for what God did for us, we remember His birth by giving each other gifts, worshipping Him, and being especially conscious of the poor and less fortunate. The true meaning of Christmas is love.

God loved His own and provided a way-the only Way-for us to spend eternity with Him.

He gave His only Son to take our punishment for our sins.

He paid the price in full, and we are free from condemnation when we accept that free gift of love.

Romans 5:8

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners

We that have been believers for a long time, are sometimes guilty of not applying the power of the Gospel in our lives as we should. It is in fact more important for someone that have been walking with God most of his / her life to just be reminded of the truth in the Word from time to time.

Especially when one gets to a stage where you are getting old and you wonder "what does the Lord want me to do for Him at my old age"

The time of old age can be a time of happy harvest, if we have sowed the seeds of good fruit.

One's opinion about the important aspects of life changesas you get older, and the older you get, the more precious life becomes and the harder it becomes to remember. Even though my beckoning future is now shorter than my fading past one thingremainunchanged,

I have alwaysbelieved and relied on one thing and it has made all the difference in my life, it sustained me in hard times, through tears and heart break, pain, fear and sorrow . . and that is the Biblical truth froman age old hymn:

That is why I know that Jesus Loves Me

“Jesus loves me this I know. For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong, we are weak but He is strong . . .Yes, Jesus loves me . . .The Bible tells me so.”

A pastor once said:

“I always noticed it was the adults who chose the children’s hymn ‘Jesus Loves Me’ – for the children of course ├ö├ç├┤ whilst singing the hymnit was the adults who sang the loudest, because they knew it the best.”

Here's a new version of the old hymn for us over middle age

who have white hair or no hair .

JESUS LOVES ME FOR SENIORS

Jesus loves me, this I know, Though my hair is white as snow Though my sight is growing dim, Still He bids me trust in Him.

(CHORUS)

YES, JESUS LOVES ME.. YES, JESUS LOVES ME.. YES, JESUS LOVES ME FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though my steps are oh, so slow, With my hand in His I’ll go On through life, let come what may, He’ll be there to lead the way.

(CHORUS)

When the nights are dark and long, In my heart He puts a song. Telling me in words so clear, “Have no fear, for I am near.”

(CHORUS)

When my work on earth is done, And life’s victories have been won. He will take me home above, Then I’ll understand His love

(CHORUS)

I love Jesus, does He know? Have I ever told Him so? Jesus loves to hear me say, That I love Him every day.

(CHORUS)
