Living Truths about JesusMark 12:27 “So he is the God of the living, not the dead. You have made a serious error.” Sin and death are grim realities in the world, but these are only temporary intruders, as it were. The God of creation is the living God; and Christ, the Son of the living GodMatthew 16:16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah(Or the Christ. Messiah (a Hebrew term) and Christ (a Greek term) both mean “the anointed one.the Son of the living God.” He is our living Saviour, alive forevermore. It is appropriate, therefore, that the term “living” is applied over and over again to great truths of the Christian faith. For example, the Holy Scriptures are called “the lively oracles” Acts 7:38Moses was with our ancestors, the assembly of God’s people in the wilderness, when the angel spoke to him at Mount Sinai. And there Moses received life-giving words to pass on to us. “Lively” and “living” represent the same Greek word zao; thus the Bible is God’s “living word.” Jesus Christ called Himself “the living bread which came down from heaven,” sent down by “the living Father” John 6:51, 57I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.”…… “I live because of the living Father who sent me; in the same way, anyone who feeds on me will live because of me.” He also promised that all who believe on Him would find “living water” flowing through their lives John 7:38 Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’(Or“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.38 For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from the heart of anyone who believes in me.’”He has opened for us through His substitutionary death and justifying resurrection “a new and living way”,which he consecrated for usHebrews 10:20 By his death, (Greek Through his flesh.) Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. Furthermore1 Peter 1:3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, The Lord Jesus is the foundation of the great house of the Lord into which we come through Him. 1 Peter 2:4-5You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honour. And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God. In this holy temple we are therefore urged to give our bodies to God Romans 12:1 I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him Our God is, indeed, the God of the living! HMM
